SLAM TOUR DIARY - CBS, SXSW and beyond 16th April 08

These past few weeks have been a bit calmer than usual, we have had only four gigs in nine days and had the very welcomed opportunity to go to Disneyland.

The boys play a session at Santa Fe's KVSF Radio

On Saturday 5th of April we had the great honor to play after an incredibly talented guitarist named Ryan McGarvey. This was the only gig where there was a chance that Davy could be out-played as Ryan McGarvey is an amazing player, I seriously suggest people check him out. After a great show at the Santa Fe Brewing Co. a few of us headed to a bar and I got the chance to jam with Ryan on the song  'Red house' which was a great thrill.

The week after that was time off spent in Los Angeles which was greatly appreciated and gave us a chance to recuperate after a hard few months on the road. On the day before our show at the Viper Room we were very kindly offered the chance to go to Disneyland thanks to our publicist Sharon Weisz.

We all had a great day and we can't thank Sharon enough for the opportunity. The show at the Viper Room on the 11th April was I think our best one there with a great crowd helping to make it a good night.

We had a bit of a drive the next day up to San Francisco to play with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band at The Independent. They were amazing with one of the best drummers I've ever seen.

On the 14th we were in Bend, Oregon for a show at the Domino Room. We played there last January and thankfully it wasn't as cold this time around. Before our show that night we played an in-store performance in Bend which we all really enjoyed doing. We sold out the Domino Room this time around and Davy even some women's underwear thrown at him on stage, a first for the band.

We've on our way to Seattle for a gig tonight at The Tractor which should be another great show.
